do.Good stitches

The ladies in my do.Good stitches circle are amazing. It was my turn to organize the quilt in December(January) I asked everyone to make two blocks with a heart theme. The colours that I asked them to use were grey, red, pink and white. Incredibly with 10 different women working on these blocks they all go together beautifully, and even more incredibly there is an even balance between applique and pieced blocks. The top is together now and I need some thread before I start quilting it (oooh, did I just say I have to go thread shopping!)

World Book Day

My 3 eldest wanted to dress up for World Book Day as Harry, Ron and Hermione from Harry Potter. I thought about buying cloaks but they sell for £16+ and I wasn't going to pay that insane amount so I decided to make them. I made a mock up first and designed them as I went along.  After cutting out the fronts and backs for all the cloaks on Monday I realised that I didn't have enough fabric for the sleeves and hoods, thank goodness for living in England. I ordered what I needed and it was here by lunch time on Tuesday.

My younger daughter wanted to be Roald Dahl! Eventually we decided that she would be Roald Dahl as a little boy, much easier. All she had to do was don some of her brothers' school uniforms and she was good to go.

The little one didn't get to dress up but he had to have a photo!
